The book is a revelation about Ram Kumar, the person, the painter and the writer. A largely pictorial documentation, it covers not only the artist’s abstract paintings in the past 35 years, but also includes his earliest figurative paintings.

Besides evaluations of Ram Kumar’s art by senior critics like Richard Bartholomew, Ranjit Hoskote, Nirmal Verma and Sham Lal, the book also highlights Ram Kumar’s own writings, specially his unpublished notebooks and his jottings on other contemporary Indian artists. This book is a testimony to the artist’s long journey through nature and life.
