Jagannath Panda’s new show dismantles the walls of our crystal city

By Uma Nair | Architectural Digest India

Whether canvasses or hybrid sculptures, or works on wood, Bhubaneswar-born artist Jagannath Panda maps diverse themes, concerns and emotions. His canvasses probe hidden embers of urban experience—death and desire, social injustice, social and economic inequalities, issues of urbanisation and dislocation, and shifts in cultural and civic patterns.

CRYSTAL CITIES

“I called my show Crystal Cities because I look at cities in terms of its many paradoxes and contradictions. When I create a painting I am looking at deeper complexities. It has to with a desire to reveal conflicts between knowledge and faith and the results of these experiences.”
