Shailesh B.R.'s show pays tribute to David Hockney, Benode Behari Mukherjee, Henri Matisse

"My main practice consists of kinetic art and machine sculptures that question the idea of common rituals and customs and what makes devotees perform them across cultures. You know the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude? Christo made drawings, collages and also took photographs, but his first love was always the huge installations in which he covered monuments and buildings. Similarly, I am doing smaller-scale drawings as a blueprint towards larger sculptures, which is what I love the most. It's like dreaming on paper before you can fulfil your bigger dreams," laughs Shailesh B.R., one of the talented young artists whose show 'Shooting Stars' recently opened at the Vadehra Art Gallery, and can now be viewed online as part of In Touch Edition 7.
