Mori Art Museum Is Back With Brand New Exhibition

Go Connect

The Mori Art Museum has been silent for a while. At the beginning of this year the museum closed for renovations and facility changes to adhere with social distancing measures. Thankfully, the museum is now ready to safely welcome visitors with a brand new exhibition titled Another Energy: Power to Continue Challenging – 16 Women Artists from around the World

GoConnect was thrilled to be invited to attend the exhibition’s press event on April 21. So we are going to give our readers a sneak peek into the exhibition—pictures and all!

Global Group

The exhibition features artworks from 16 female artists from around the world. All of them have had tremendous success over their long careers, and have been recognized locally and globally. Ranging in age from 71 to 105, all of these talented artists are still active and busy at work.

When asked about selecting an all-female group of artists, Martin Germann, the exhibition co-curator, spoke about the current trend in the art world—honoring great women artists who have gone unrecognized for a long time. However, this exhibition does not solely focus on feminism. Germann said that the exhibition is free from the notion of gender, and celebrates the work, life, personal pain, and key issues that each individual artist faces.
